A re-application of the classics, designer Kuzuki Kuraishi, in conjunction with adidas, just released the second collection from the acclaimed adidas Originals By Originals (aka O by O).  With design input from one of the top Japanese urban fashion label, NEIGHBORHOOD, Kuraishi and Shinsuke Takizawa of NEIGHBORHOOD was able to add a “modern theme” to the conservative ZIVIL COURAGE Vulcanized Boot, with premium leather, mesh tongue, and a streamlined black/white appearance (with a NBHD emblem embossed at the ankle), all the while kept the iconic vulcanized rubber sole.  Currently available at selected retailers worldwide, including End Clothing of England.

Along with NEIGHBORHOOD, one other Japanese independent fashion label joining the fray with adidas Originals by Originals (aka O By O) this season is WHIZ Limited.  By designing around the adidas Superstar, Hiroaki Shitano, the Creative Director of WHIZ Limited, conceived a sneaker for the chilly Fall months.  In place of leather, his version of Superstar is made entirely out of the melton wool.  Ample insulation against the cold yet rustic enough for daily usage.  To extend that lux feel further, Shitano swapped out the interior lining with plush terry knit fabric.  Available in Maroon and Black, now on sale at End Clothing as well.

The Adidas Nations’ basketball tournament held next week in Dallas, Texas will feature the top under-18 year old basketball players in the world. They will play in exhibition games in tournament style whilst guided by NBA veterans. Each player will be wearing the Adidas TS Commander LT in Black/White/Metallic gold colorway. Adidas has made 200 pairs of these shoes available to the public only through Eastbay. With that being said, they are available now in a full size run on Eastbay’s website. With limited availability anyone interested should act fast.

adidas Skateboarding is definitely gaining momentum, especially with the release of the adidas Skateboarding Diagonal Campus Mid. The black suede upper goes great with the black leather three stripes and leather back heel panel. The vulcanized gum sole makes this skate shoe an instant classic. “Diagonal” is found on the side panel and tongue to represent the newest “Diagonal” video from adidas Europe. Adidas loves celebrating with shoes, and this time around, the Adidas Top Ten Hi model gets some love. It’s been thirty years since the Top Ten model was released, which is why the Adidas Top Ten Hi has released in a white pearl/silver colorway. This clean shoe has a white leather base with some white patent leather accents. It also features a basketball material panel on the toe and ankle to let people know what the shoe was made for. Lastly, “1979″ and “2009″ are found at the back ankle along with a “30″ emblem on the back heel. These are available now for $85.

One other label/retailer to be highlighted in the just announced FIVE-TWO 3 Collection by adidas Originals is the London-base maharishi.  Established in 1994 by Creative Director Hardy Blechman, maharishi’s unique blending of militarism, especially its focus on DPM (the technical term for camouflage), along with work wear and urban fashion trend made the label
an early trend setter on global scene.

adidas Originals‘ newest pack features a three way collaboration with X-Large, PORTER, and maharishi on three of their Originals’ models including the Superstar, Nizza, and Stan Smith respectively. X-Large collaborated with adidas on the Superstar using a wide variety of colors and exotic reptile leathers with an X-Large logo featured on the tongue. Porter kept it very basic and clean with a Black nylon upper and Orange lining, similar to their bags, on the adidas Nizza Hi. maharishi and adidas worked together on the Stan Smith using a Light Blue synthetic on the upper with maharishi branding near the heel of the shoe on the upper. All three are available now at select adidas Originals retailers including Proper.

As part of its FIVE-TWO 3 Project, adidas Originals have invited 5 trend-setting labels from around the globe to add their design aesthetics on 5 iconic adidas models.  Included collaborators are our friends from Nom de Guerre, who put forth a concept close to its namesake.  A composition of canvas and leather, in military gray-green, the sneaker mimics early combat boots used by the U.S. Army.  A white ankle strap extends and pierced through the muted design, act as dual symbolisms for bondage and cross.  The Nom de Guerre x adidas Originals Forum Hi, along with 4 other exclusive design from the FIVE-TWO 3 Collection will be available at selected retailers next month.
