Parisian shoe designer, Pierre Hardy, is well known for the sneakers that are heavily infused with inspirations from the art world. For the fifth installment of his limited edition series, the designer draws from the beautiful abstractness in the stained glass aesthetics of a “Gilbert and George painting”. These sleek hi-top sneakers with a sophisticated slim silhouette are crafted from premium buttery soft nubuck leather. Taking on a bright palette arranged in minimalist color-block of pastel patches with black piping, the kicks are not just reminiscent of stained glass work, but also of the Hayworth II Mid created by Y-3 and MOMO, but in a simpler and more subdued manner. These Pierre Hardy sneakers are limited to a run of 500 and will be available at very select retailers such as colette in Paris, Corso Como in Milan and Barneys in New York on a first-come-first-serve basis this December, so stay tuned. via: Wallpaper

A brand staple since its debut in the 70’s, tennis superstar George ‘Rod’ Laver’s signature shoe is back with some new plot driven colorways. Forgoing the trademark 3-Stripes branding, Adidas chose to model the shoe around a simple execution-based platform, a timeless statement proving to be successful even today. Now, nearly four decades later, nine global Consortium partners have been given the opportunity to revamp the instant classic with their choice of color, fabric, and detail work. The images unveiled this week include an original colorway as well as the works of New York’s ‘Dave’s Quality Meat‘, Barcelona’s ‘LimitEDitions‘, LA’s ‘Undefeated‘, and ‘VA’ of Tokyo. Available in extremely limited qualities, you can expect these models to pop up at Consortium retailers throughout August and September.
